About

Hello! I’m Barbara and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am drawn to this work because I love working with people and seeing them grow. I believe that each person is capable of achieving their goals. My role is to support you with the journey with a variety of strategies including non-judgmental feedback, improving insight, and developing healthier thinking patterns. I know that we can all benefit from extra support no matter how big or small the issue may be. I treat each person with respect, compassion, and understanding.

Why Me?

That’s a great question and it is important to take that seriously during this process. There are so many great therapists out there. Finding the right fit for YOU is the most important part. What’s different about my approach? My first focus is to build a strong relationship built on a foundation of trust and respect. When you’re ready we can dive into the challenges you are facing. I don’t think therapy should be formal or stuffy. My office is bright, calming, and full of light. My therapy reflects that, too. In the midst of the work we find the light. And some laughs and a good sense of humor help as well!

Background

I have been in this field for over a decade and I love what I do. I obtained my Masters in Social Work from University of Southern California and my clinical training at Family Service of Santa Monica and Project 180. Post graduation I worked for several community mental health clinics as well as in a high school. I have worked with children, teenagers, adults, and families in a variety of settings including clinics, schools, and in-home.
