FAQs

What types of therapy do you offer?

I offer individual therapy for teens and adults. I offer couples therapy and a support group for new moms. My practice focuses on helping clients navigate life transitions.

What age groups do you work with?

I work with teens (13+) and adults of all ages. It’s never too late to start. The Mommy and Me group is for moms with babies between 0-6 months.

How long are your therapy sessions? How often will we meet?

Individual sessions last for 50 minutes. Couples sessions last for 60 minutes. The Mommy & Me group is 90 minutes. At the start of therapy I recommend meeting weekly so we can get to know one another, build trust, and gain some momentum. I’m always open to discussing more flexible scheduling such as every other week if it’s appropriate and works for you.

What is your approach to therapy?

I focus on using an integrative approach, tailoring my methods to fit each client’s unique needs. My style is warm and collaborative. I’m also not afraid to find those moments to gently challenge you so we help you develop insight and practical skills to help manage life’s challenges.

Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately I do not accept insurance. I know that can be a deterrent. If cost is a barrier to receiving care I’m available to discuss reduced fee options. I also provide superbills which allow your insurance to reimburse you for a portion of the fee, depending on your benefits.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re here that means something isn’t feel quite right. That something is likely getting in the way of your day-to-day life. You might be finding yourself isolating more, your work performance has declined, or you’re not showing up in relationships the way you used to. If it’s impacting some of these areas it might mean you need a little more support. You don’t have to have a clinical diagnosis to need or benefit from therapy. We don’t look down on an athlete who uses a coach to improve their performance. Let’s bring the same acceptance to this journey.

How long does therapy typically last?

This is a common question and a hard one to answer. The duration of therapy differs for each individual or couple. Some clients achieve their goals in a few months, while others might benefit from longer-term support. I regularly review your progress and goals with you so we can adjust your plan as needed.

Is what I say in therapy confidential?

Yes! Everything we talk about remains private. There are a few legal exceptions to this such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of suspected child or elder abuse. You will receive paperwork about this and I discuss it in detail in our first session.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Absolutely. We can meet in-person, virtually, or do a hybrid. It’s about your comfort and making this process as accessible as possible. No one enjoys sitting in LA traffic!

How do I get started?

I suggest we start with a free twenty minute phone call. You can get to know me and you can share a bit about what you’re looking to work on. If it feels like a good fit we can schedule our first session and try things out. Click on the link below to contact me and we will get started!
